ShoreTension in French Port – Le Havre

ShoreTension proudly announces that HAROPA Port is offering ShoreTension for optimum vessel mooring services.

Vessels regularly have difficulties to stay safely alongside the quay, a problem known as “surging”, which refers to back and forth movements by the vessel along the terminal berth. Such movements are generally encountered when other vessels pass at close distance.

In order to ensure safe mooring operations, HAROPA PORT, in consultation with boatmen, pilots, owners and stevedores in Le Havre, conducted a study in 2019 involving installation of centimetric GPS units on moored vessels. This resulted in the introduction of ShoreTension in HAROPA Port.
