ShoreTension receives order from the Port of Geraldton, WA

ShoreTension proudly announces the order it received from the Port of Geraldton in Australia. Due to its geographical location, directly exposed to the harsh environment from the Indian Ocean, Geraldton is well known for the long swell wave periods. Because of the significant influence of swell, the port is happy to reduce this problem with the ShoreTension units.

The big difference

The ShoreTension mooring system has been proven very effective in reducing the response of a moored ship. Not only in high wind speeds, in long waves (infra-gravity waves) but also in case of passing vessels. In addition Dyneema lines are used to increase the mooring capacity.

The cylinders carry out work and thereby dissipate energy from the system. This introduces a significant amount of damping of the horizontal ship motions.
